The Internet: The musical

I love the internet, I mean, who doesn’t? I also love music and musicals. I also love and hate internet trends. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr – all of it. They are the worst and the best things about the internet.

The funny and clever people at AVbyte! on YouTube create really good musicals every week. They’re funny and the performers are good!

Seeing as I’m an Instagram addict, I loved this one.

Then there’s Tumblr. It’s a crazy place filled with, well, just watch this musical by AVbyte! and VlogBrothers.

They have a load more and they’re all hilarious, so enjoy!

Also, I’m very cool and now have my own domain. And what do you think of my blog? It’s still a work in progress but I’m trying! (I will conquer you, CSS!)

Oh and a HUGE thanks to André who helped me set up my new blog and who is just plain awesome and clever. Much love to you!

Bye!

A baby turtle munches a raspberry

If you’re needing something cute to make your day then this would be it. I just love how chill this teeny tiny baby turtle is. I’m sure there’s some deep lesson we could all learn from this little guy. For now though just watch the cuteness.

Also, his name is Peanut. *So cute!*

You’re welcome.

“Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus”

This young guy wrote this poem explaining just how different Jesus and Religion really are. THIS is what I believe in. THIS is what I do each time I’m going to a “church meeting”. This dude has the right idea.

To Jefferson Bethke – I say thank you!

If you don’t want to watch the video below, at the very least please read the poem:

What if I told you, Jesus came to abolish religion?
What if I told you getting you to vote republican, really wasn’t his mission?
Because republican doesn’t automatically mean Christian,
And just because you call some people blind, doesn’t automatically give you vision.
If religion is so great, why has it started so many wars?
Why does it build huge churches, but fails to feed the poor?
Tells single moms God doesn’t love them if they’ve ever been divorced
Yet God in the Old Testament actually calls the religious people whores
Religion preaches grace, but another thing they practice,
Tend to ridicule Gods people, they did it to John the Baptist,
Cant fix their problems, so they try to mask it,
Not realizing that’s just like sprayin perfume on a casket
Because the problem with religion is that it never gets to the core,
It’s just behavior modification, like a long list of chores.
Let’s dress up the outside, make things look nice and neat,
Its funny that’s what they do to mummies, while the corpse rots underneath,
Now I ain’t judging I’m just saying be careful of putting on a fake look,
Because there’s a problem if people only know that you’re a Christian by that little section on your facebook
In every other aspect of life you know that logics unworthy
Its like saying you play for the lakers just because you bought a jersey
But see I played this game too; no one seemed to be on to me,
I was acting like church kid, while addicted to pornography.
I’d go to church on Sunday, but on saturday getting faded,
Acting as if I was simply created to have sex and get wasted.
Spend my whole life putting on this façade of neatness,
But now that I know Jesus, I boast in my weakness.
If grace is water, then the church should be an ocean,
Cuz its not a museum for good people, it’s a hospital for the broken
I no longer have to hide my failures I don’t have to hide my sin,
Because my salvation doesn’t depend on me, it depends on him.
because when I was Gods enemy and certainly not a fan,
God looked down on me and said, “I want that man!”
Which is so different from religious people, and why Jesus called em fools
Don’t you see hes so much better than just following some rules?
Now let me clarify, I love the church, I love the bible, and I believe in sin
But my question, is if Jesus were here today, would your church let Him in?
Remember He was called a drunkard and a glutton by “religious men”
The Son of God not supported self-righteousness, not now, not then.

Now back to the topic, one thing I think is vital to mention,
How Jesus and religion are on opposite spectrums,
One is the work of God one is a man made invention,
One is the cure and one is the infection.
Because Religion says do, Jesus says done.
Religion says slave, Jesus says son,
Religion puts you in shackles but Jesus sets you free.
Religion makes you blind, but Jesus lets you see.

This is what makes religion and Jesus two different clans,
Religion is man searching for God, but Christianity is God searching for man.
Which is why salvation is freely mine, forgiveness is my own,
Not based on my efforts, but Christ’s obedience alone.
Because he took the crown of thorns, and blood that dripped down his face
He took what we all deserved, that’s why we call it grace.
While being murdered he yelled “father forgive them, they know not what they do”,
Because when he was dangling on that cross, he was thinking of you
He paid for all your sin, and then buried it in the tomb,
Which is why im kneeling at the cross now saying come on there’s room
So know I hate religion, in fact I literally resent it,
Because when Jesus cried It is finished, I believe He meant it.

The Hobbit official movie trailer!

The Hobbit

I would just like to state upfront that I love JRR Tolkien like an overweight child loves sugary delights.

I’ve read The Hobbit and the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy. I’m proud of that. It took forever.

I’ve watched each of the Lord of the Rings movies multiple times and now this has arrived…

The Hobbit, directed by Peter Jackson. Awesome.

So here’s the trailer for my most anticipated movie of 2012. Woohoo!

Enjoy! (And remember that I don’t own any rights to this movie or trailer blah blah blah…)

P.S. Gandalf is my favourite character. Always has been. Which character do you love?

Spending time together

My Duckie <3
My Duckie <3

I’ve realised that all too often we take spending time alone with our partner for granted.

Last night Daniel and I went out for dinner and a movie alone for the first time in months and it was fantastic. For a non-married couple we spend a lot of time together anyway, but it’s different when you’re alone together.

He spends most nights at my house on the futon and we often game together (one on the PC, one on the PS3) but you can’t really beat sitting across from each other at a table and just chatting.

We spoke about work and all the changes are that happening for both of us and we laughed and joked. We didn’t have to constantly be touching and kissing and slobbering on each other. That’s not a relationship.

A relationship is made of loving each other enough to care what you’re talking about. A relationship is me being really interested about what’s happening at work, even though it has nothing to do with me. A relationship is being able to sit quietly and not feel awkward. It’s obviously many more things too, but it’s important to have someone that you can talk to about all of your interests, worries, hurts and happies.

I had that last night. And I’ve had that for the last 5 years. I’m one lucky girl, I know.

Enough of the soppy!

Okay, no more soppy stuff. On a different note, the movie Daniel and I ended up watching (at 22:50 last night) was Johnny English: Reborn. Good grief, it’s hilarious! The lols were brought.

It’s a fairly long movie and we left the theatre (having been the only 2 watching that particular movie) at 00:45. Our movie was also that last one to come out. The poor staff had to wait around until nearly 1am just for the two of us… Awkward.

2 #VOTD

I have 2 videos of the day for you.

First off, Agnes (from Despicable Me) singing The Unicorn Song

And then Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO because it’s such a fun weekend song. Love it!

And with that – Have a good weekend, everyone! x

Video of the day: Skyrim Gameplay!

This is the next installment in the Elder Scrolls series and I’m a huge fan. I played a little Morrowind and I’ve replayed Oblivion about 5 times over. So you can only imagine how super excited I am for this to be released!

The geek in me is quivering with ridiculous excitement. I am completely nerding out here!

(I posted this to my blog because it wouldn’t load on YouTube. #JustSaying)

Enjoy the awesomeness of this video!
