My fabulous best friend, Zayaan (and many other bloggers) do monthly blog posts covering their favourites and I thought I’d jump on the band wagon seeing as this is a new year. Here are a few of my loves and must haves in January 2015.
And speaking of Zayaan…
1. Surviving the Madness
Zayaan just recently re-launched her blog and it’s looking awesome! It’s one of my loves this month because it’s so pretty and she set it up all by herself! She blogs about family life, being a mom and all things geeky. Go and give her some love: www.survivingthemadness.co.za
2. The Promise of New Harry Potter Books
I love the Harry Potter series so much, it’s probably not healthy. I’ve read the books, watched the movies and played the LEGO PC game a crazy amount of times. The characters make me happy and J.K. Rowling is a word wizard. No two ways about it. I own the digital versions of all the books so when the news was released that there would be brand new ILLUSTRATED Harry Potter books coming over the next few years – my January was MADE.
The books will be released every year, with the first coming out this October and they’re going to be illustrated by the super talented Jim Kay! I’m ridiculously excited. Can you just imagine how amazing these are going to be? It means kids will get to experience Harry Potter all over again! And yes, those of us who are adults and love Harry and his friends will get to fall in love all over again.
Take a look at some of the illustrations that have been released.
3. Suppawt Raise ‘n Rescue
Ever since Daniel and I adopted Pixel a little over a year ago, I’ve been obsessed with pet rescue organisations. My favourite one is Raise ‘n Rescue. I follow them on Facebook and they do such amazing work. They help out in the community all the time and they really make a difference. It’s not always easy to fork out extra cash (even when it’s for a good cause), but Raise ‘n Resuce make it really easy. All you have to do is text RESCUE to 48748 and it only costs R10 of your airtime.
4. Garnier Hydra-Adapt Moisturiser
I have really sensitive skin that can be quite prone to dry patches. I recently purchased Garnier Hydra-Adapt moisturiser for normal to combination skin and I’m really happy with it. It smells AMAZING and has a lovely texture. It goes on smooth and absorbs into my skin quickly. It doesn’t leave any residue or make my skin oily. It’s pretty amazing. It cost about R100 at Foschini and I’ve been using this one pot for a few months already. That’s value!
And that’s a wrap on January. The first month of the year is done and dusted. Happy upcoming February, everyone!
