If you’ve been following me or this blog for a while, you’ll no that about 8 months ago, The Husband lost his job.
He was originally retrenched from Chaos Computers and soon after got another (short-lived) job that he didn’t enjoy but was let go because of bad planning on the part of the employer.
All-in-all, not ideal for a couple that had only been married a couple of months. It was rather stressful and an unexpected turn.
You can read more here:
BUT – now, after all these months, there’s good news!
On the 2nd of September, Daniel started his new job! He’s back in computer sales and if you frequent Willowbridge Mall you’ll see him at the Computer Mania.
The situation was perfect and all of the small details have come together like it was meant just for him. Which is exactly how you know the decisions being made are the right ones, know what I mean?
Plus my husband is happy, which makes me happy. Very happy.
It’ll take a little adjusting
Because Daniel is the driver in our family, it means that my work hours need to fit with his. Suddenly I’m working a 9:00 to 17:30 day which is not bad at all because it suits me better than an early morning start.
Also, most weekends are now spent working which leaves me having to entertain myself. Don’t get me wrong, I love a little alone time but I’m used to having Daniel around so it will take some adjusting.
PLUS, now I have to clean our home. Ugh. Only kidding. You see, with Daniel being on “leave” for all these months, I’ve been lucky enough to have a house-husband that washes the dishes, cleans the house, does the laundry. Basically, I’ve been spoilt. Now I have to tackle these tasks on my own while trying to keep myself busy at home, and I kind of enjoy it.
(I tried to convince Pixel kitten to help out but she just fell asleep on the fridge. So lazy.)
It’s been quite a first year
I’ll be a doing a full post soon about Daniel and I weathering the first year as a married couple, but I must say that despite the job situations and not always knowing which way is up, this year has been easy. We were warned about how hard the first year can be and that we mustn’t let it get us down etc. But honestly, it’s been a breeze. Long may it last.
I also just want to say thank you to everyone who has been so supportive, our friends and family, who’ve always kept us positive and helped in so many ways. We’ve really appreciated it.
If you guys want to congratulate Daniel you can leave a comment below or tweet him: @Dannyvan. :)
