The story has just broken that you have passed away and I can only describe what I’m feeling as heartbroken. I’m choking back tears at my desk and I know countless others are doing the same.
Many people feel strongly about ereaders. They often only love them or hate them.
I loved my Kindle 3 (with keyboard) as it was lovingly named. It travelled all the way from America over 3 years ago and from the first slide of its power button, I was in love.
There are times when the Internet can be harder than usual.
I’m no stranger to the web and it’s ridiculous and mystical ways. On some days, the Internet is filled with new bacon-wrapped something and silly videos.
Today is not one of those days. Today there’s a lot of hurt and serious discussions and intense feelings. It’s a rough one.
Working on the Internet has shown me the best and the worst that it has to offer. Heck, someone called my mother a prostitute once! (But that’s for another post.)
I collect cool images from all over the Internet and make them suitable for my Kindle 3. They need to be 600 x 800 pixels and look good in black and white.
“I want custom Kindle wallpapers too!”
If you want to play with awesome wallpapers too, just follow this really easy tutorial on how to jailbreak your Kindle.
Gotta download ’em all!
I have so many so I thought I’d start sharing them every now and then. Sometimes I snap photos of the images when they pop up on my Kindle and Instagram them. They then inevitably end up on Pinterest. Because, that’s how the Interwebs work…
Click on the images, download and enjoy!
Have a great weekend!
I don’t own the rights to any of these images
Every now and then, new things pop into your life and you just fall in love. Books, music, games, a new car maybe? It can be absolutely anything. They make our lives just a little happier, don’t they? Well here are mine.
1. New Music: Explosions in the Sky
After watching Friday Night Lights (okay, I pretty much inhaled that fantastic show), Zayaan suggested a band called Explosions in the Sky. This is the same band who does the music soundtrack for Friday Night Lights. So bascially, how could I not love them? They’re an instrumental band and the music is beautiful (no Nicki Minaj here). It’s filled with so many feels.
Listen and enjoy
2. New books: John Gone
This love is not so much for the book itself (which is good on it’s own so far) but for 2 smaller issues.
2.1 The love of reading in general. It’s just such a wonderful escape from everyday life that I am grateful to have the skill/opportunity to indulge in. I’m also grateful/proud that I have a love for reading at all.
2.2 I am loving reading new and different types of books. I decided to try John Gone (which I randomly picked up for free) after it was sitting on my Kindle for a couple of months. I got into a rut of reading the same couple of authors over and over and I needed something fresh. And it’s awesome. Yay!
3. New Iron Man 3 trailer
I love me some Robert Downey Junior and I love the Iron Man series just as much. It was fantastic to watch the new full-length trailer (so far) of the latest installment. I can’t wait for the movie!
Again, watch and enjoy.
What are some of your favourite things at the moment?
I would just like to state upfront that I love JRR Tolkien like an overweight child loves sugary delights.
I’ve read The Hobbit and the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy. I’m proud of that. It took forever.
I’ve watched each of the Lord of the Rings movies multiple times and now this has arrived…
The Hobbit, directed by Peter Jackson. Awesome.
So here’s the trailer for my most anticipated movie of 2012. Woohoo!
Enjoy! (And remember that I don’t own any rights to this movie or trailer blah blah blah…)
P.S. Gandalf is my favourite character. Always has been. Which character do you love?
