Death is a strange thing. We all know it’s coming, we all know that we aren’t immortal, but we push the reality of death aside because it’s no fun to think about it, is it?

On the 20th of September 2015, I faced the reality of death for only the second time in my life. My father, Frederick Norman Addinall, passed away at the age of 65.

As you can see and you may have noticed (or not), I’ve been MIA for a while. I guess my brain just needed a little break. Also I wasn’t entirely happy with the last time I changed the look of my blog so you may have noticed that I changed it again. My first visit to Durban

In March of 2015, Daniel and I took a trip up to Durban and it was my first visit to the city.This post has been sitting in wait until now because I’m both easily distracted and lazy. Oops.

We flew up to Durban on a ridiculously early flight on the 19th of March, which also happens to be Daniel’s birthday! The reason for our visit was to go up and see Daniel’s dad and his girlfriend. Needless to say, being in different cities means that we don’t get to see them often. I was also extremely excited to see a new city that I’ve never laid eyes on before.

Down, Up and Forward

There’s something that the bloggers on the old Parent24 blogs used to do and they called it DUFs.

Every Friday they would share their Downs, Ups and Forwards for the week and I think it’s a cool way to keep track of what’s happening in your life, you know?

Time moves so fast right now and I think it would be nice to have a way of looking back and also making plans for the future.

So basically I’ve decided to bring back DUFs. I think they’re quite similar to the Currently posts some bloggers are doing.
