The Internet is rough today

There are times when the Internet can be harder than usual.

I’m no stranger to the web and it’s ridiculous and mystical ways. On some days, the Internet is filled with new bacon-wrapped something and silly videos.

Today is not one of those days. Today there’s a lot of hurt and serious discussions and intense feelings. It’s a rough one.

Working on the Internet has shown me the best and the worst that it has to offer. Heck, someone called my mother a prostitute once! (But that’s for another post.)

Today is rough. Like a sailor testing the waters for another day of sailing, it’s better to just step back and see what the Internet has to offer. If the water is choppy and the sky’s looking stormy, maybe it’s a good idea to not take the plunge.

That’s how I feel today.

I’d much rather prefer to immerse myself in a book, thanks. I know we can’t all be ostriches with our heads in the sand, but taking a break from the bickering, negativity and hatred is good for the soul.

I’m currently reading A Hat Full of Sky by Terry Pratchett (my all-time favourite author) and here’s my list of funny books that I’ll be drowning myself in next:

I Shall Wear Midnight

Night Watch

– Timmy Failure: Now Look What You’ve Done

And because laughs are needed, watch this video of Terry Crews singing A Thousand Miles in White Chicks.

  1. Truly, cannot have put it a better way, today. I’m also battling the “Internet Roughness” today, and want to escape to a world of memes and kitten photos X
